Inside and Outside by Ailsa Huang

You see a strange girl on the outside,

                                                But what you cannot see,

Is a vulnerable girl in the inside.

You have heard her strange stories,

But you cannot hear her creative mind.

You see her strange smile and high-pitched giggles,

                                                But what you cannot see,

Are the scars deep in her heart.

She's an outcast on the outside,

But extraordinarily ordinary in the inside.

                                                Some people see her,

                                                Skipping down the street,

But her mind is racing through.

You see her smiles almost every day,

                                                But what you cannot see,

                                                Are her tears scattering,

                                                And dancing in the wind.

                                                We are all like her,

We might all be outcasts sometimes,

But when the inside and outside bonds together...

                                                            We are all the same.
