Inside - Outside by Matt Zhijian Zheng

Spiked green flowers fell from above.

Razor sharp sticks lay scattered on the floor.

Armies of black tanks arose from the south.

Tsunamis came in from wave to wave crushing soldiers and planes.

No doubt nothing survived.

But from a mountain far away troops began to come again.

Air strikes flew by and dropped white bombs,

demolishing most troops and reinforcements on the battle ground.

Then all went dark as the world went silent.

Giants leaned above the sky blocking the phoenix from shooting flames.

But that wasn’t the worst of problems.

The apex predator had arrived.

Its large feet were incoming closer.

Time froze and so did the ants.

The tree stopped shaking and the world was gone.

‘MOM! I FOUND SOME ANTS!’
